Russia and India are in negotiations for the sale of 3 Krivak IV Class frigates, India Today said on its website on Monday. Preliminary discussions have already been held and the sale will feature in Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin’s talks in Delhi today, according to the report.

An official close to the talks told the magazine on the condition of anonymity that discussions were at a preliminary stage and that they would get “concretised in the coming days."

Rogozin, who is the Co-Chairman of the Indo-Russian Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, is leading a high-power delegation to India for talks on trade and military cooperation. International issues like Syria are also expected to be on his agenda that includes a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
