People in India were surprised to see an unidentified young lady leading the Indian contingent in the march past alongside Beijing Games bronze-medal winner Sushil Kumar at the ceremony on Friday.

 

The lady was dressed in red shirt and blue trousers although all Indian women athlest were wearing sari.

 

It turned out that the woman had joined the team before entering the stadium.

 

An official with the Indian delegation said that she had nothing to do with the national team.

 

The Indian media are now speculating on who was that “lady in red”.
