The 3,1-kilometer-long bridge links the Russian city of Vladivostok to Russky Island . Unveiled on July 2, the facility operated in a test mode till the beginning of August.

The bridge was constructed ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit due to take place in Vladivostok in September 2012.
